Vermeer Horizontal Tree Grinder Hardfacing

Workman Mobile Welding recently completed hardfacing work on a Vermeer horizontal tree grinder rotor to help combat wear and extend service life.

Tree grinders operate in extremely abrasive conditions, constantly processing wood, brush, and debris. Over time, these conditions wear away critical surfaces, reducing efficiency and increasing maintenance costs.

To help prevent premature wear, we applied hardfacing to the rotor's wear surfaces. Hardfacing creates a highly wear-resistant layer that protects the base metal from abrasion and impact, helping customers get more hours out of their equipment before major repairs or replacements are needed.

Preventative maintenance like hardfacing is one of the most cost-effective ways to increase equipment life and reduce downtime.
