The bucket can't dig properly, and if you ignore it, the damage spreads. That's exactly what we were dealing with here - a broken shank that had torn right through the bucket lip and left a clean hole in its wake.

We started by cleaning out the damaged area. That means grinding back to bare, solid metal so the weld has something real to bond to. No shortcuts. We positioned everything back where it belonged, then ran beads along every joint - the shank base, the lip, and the surrounding edges. The weld passes are stacked tight and consistent, which matters when this thing is going back to work under real load.

The best part of this repair? We came to the equipment. No trailering the bucket to a shop, no waiting for a shop opening, no downtime beyond what the repair itself required. We loaded up and got to the site here in the O'Fallon area, worked right off the machine, and had it back together and ready to dig.

That's really the whole point of mobile welding. When a piece of equipment breaks on your property or job site, time is money. Getting a bucket repaired on-site - without hauling anything - is just the faster, smarter way to handle it. And the repair itself is built to last, not just to get by.
