Here's a situation a lot of equipment operators run into - you've got a solid bucket that's in good shape, but it was built for a different machine than the one you're running now. Buying a brand new bucket feels like a waste when the one you have is perfectly usable. That's exactly what this customer brought to us at Workman Mobile Welding.
The original mounting setup on the bucket wasn't compatible with the customer's excavator. So instead of scrapping it, we stripped off the old mount and fabricated a new quick coupler plate to match the machine they're actually running. That's the kind of work that takes real precision - the fit-up has to be right, the weld quality has to hold up under load, and the geometry has to line up so the bucket functions the way it's supposed to.
The shop work you see here shows the coupler plate fully welded in, with clean consistent beads along every joint and the pin bores machined out smooth and true. Nothing sloppy, nothing rushed. Getting this part wrong means the bucket doesn't seat properly on the machine - and that's a safety issue, not just a performance one.
Out in the yard, you can see the finished bucket sitting ready to go. The new coupler setup fits clean against the existing bucket body, and the whole attachment is solid. The customer gets to keep a quality bucket they already own instead of dropping money on a replacement. For a lot of operators in the Foristell area, that's a meaningful difference.
This kind of work is a good example of what we do at Workman Mobile Welding - practical fabrication and repair that keeps equipment running without unnecessary costs. Whether it's a coupler conversion, a cracked weld on a piece of iron, or a custom fab job from scratch, we handle it in the shop and in the field.
